What happens if you dont get a crown after root canal?

November 12th, 2008
Mika asked:

So I had root canal like….3 months ago or so
They did it and put in a post and stuff but my dad canceled my insurance before they made the appointment for the crown >___>;
So I never got the crown put in
I still haven’t chewed with that side of my mouth cause I’m afraid the tooth will break or something

So question is
How much pressure can a tooth handle after root canal?
And is it necessary to have a crown put on after root canal?

I’m 24 weeks pregnant with scoliosis, sciatic nerve damage, and an autoimmune disorder that effects my joints. My midwife referred me to physical therapy but I’m a little scared. Today is my first appointment and I’m a little nervous about what all she’ll make me do and how much pain I’ll be in afterwards.

Laser Eye Surgery Recovery Tips

October 21st, 2008
David Wilson asked:

So, you’re getting lasik surgery. Great, you’re on your way to enjoying greatly improved vision without the hassle of glasses or contacts. However, you might be a bit worried about getting through the post operation recovery phase without issue.

Don’t worry too much about this. Lasik is a quick operation that takes 15 minutes or so to complete, so the recovery isn’t too intense. However, there are a few things to keep in mind that will help your recovery process go smoothly.

First of all, relax. In fact, it may be best if you go to sleep right after the operation. Don’t watch TV, used the computer, read a book, or any other similar activity. Your eyes must stay relaxed, and sleeping is one of the best ways to ensure this.

Don’t wear make up or use any scents or colognes. The dust and the fumes could cause irritation which might interfere with the recovery process.

You should wear sunglasses right after the surgery, until your eyes have recovered. Also, don’t take showers, because the spray from the water could cause issues. Opt for bathes, instead. Also, avoid any sort of dusty environments during the recovery period. Don’t drink any alcohol for at least two ways after the surgery

Also, make sure that you do not rub your eyes at all. Your doctor should give you a mask that will help shield your eyes, but since your eyes will be slightly itchy and irritated, you might be tempted to cheat. You need to exercise self control and avoid doing this.

After a day or two, the itching should start to clear up, and your vision should be much clearer, however, complete recovery might take up to six months. Just take it easy, and wait for the healing to complete. However, the precautions described above only apply to the first few days.

Also, make sure that you carefully follow any other instructions given to you by the doctor. Attend all follow up appointments, since they are critical for monitoring the success of your surgery.

So, most of this is pretty common sense. Just protect your eyes from particulate matter, fumes, and strain. As stated above, one of the best ways to recover is to simply kick back and sleep for a while. When you wake up, you’ll find yourself enjoying better, clearer vision than ever before, thanks to the miracle of laser eye surgery.

How to Select the Right Laser Scar Treatment Skin Doctor

October 15th, 2008
Margaret Richards asked:

When it comes to laser scar treatment, choosing the right clinic will have an affect on the outcome of the procedure. Most medical insurance policies do not cover the treatment, the cost may be a consideration for some people. However, do not simply choose the lowest bidder. If you do, the skin doctor you select might have more interest in your money than your well-being or the outcome of your scar removal treatment. It’s important to find a respectable dermatologist, who makes you feel comfortable about the procedure. Once have found a suitable dermatologist, ask about payment plans for your treatment. Some dermatologists will offer discounts if you pre-book multiple treatments with them, this can be a way to reduce the total cost of treatment without sacrificing quality.

When conducting your search for a laser scar treatment clinic, consider only those doctors who are board certified, who have a staff of fully qualified nurses or technicians. Some salons or spas offer laser treatments, but these aren’t commonly directly supervised by a doctor. It is advisable to avoid these places and select a doctor who is well trained, preferably in the same type of laser that will be employed for your procedure. Laser beams can be hazardous when used without precautions, so it is important to choose a dermatologist you can trust. Professionals trained in the use of lasers will be able to lower any risk of complications or side effects.

Prior to selecting a doctor, visit several for consultation visits. The doctors you meet will check your skin and the scar you require treating, they will detail the manner of treatment they recommend. The dermatologist should be able to explain the types of lasers they offer, as well as which of them will function best in your circumstances. Not all clinics have access to the current laser technologies, so consider this when making your selection. The lasers employed in laser scar treatment will differ for different scars and skin types and this will impact the result of any treatment.

If a dermatologist is forcing you to sign up for the procedure, avoid that doctor. Reputable dermatologists will allow you as much time as you require to think about your decision. You should in no way feel forced to sign up for any treatment without understanding the treatment and any possible complications. Unfortunately, a selection of clinics exist that are more interested in your money than in your experience with them.

As with other medical procedures, there are some side effects related to laser scar treatment. To reduce your risks of side effects, only trust your skin to a fully qualified skin doctor who makes you feel comfortable about the procedure. This is one of the essential steps you can take to ensure that your treatment is a success.

Book of Revelation coming true? Please help?

September 21st, 2008
DVO asked:

Is the Book of Revelation coming true? I don’t really believe in certain elements of the bible, but this bit seems to be happening.

“He forced everyone to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead so that no one shall be able to buy or sell unless he has the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name, and the number of the beast is 666″ This could be seen as a bard code as each one is split into 2 section by 3 long lines, each represented by the number 6. To eradicate credit card fraud, and do deliver a cash and cardless society they are already testing laser tattoo barcodes on US service men.

“When the third angel blows her trumpet, wormwood will fall from the sky wormwood will poison a third part of all the waters
and a third part of all the land, and many, many, many people will die”

The Russian translation of Wormwood is Chernobyl.
